Let's Work Together and make it a Reality

Our idea about this project was to show you guys that violence, war and the changing climate do not have to be our reality….We always dream about peace and helping each other and that is actually what we need to make our realty!

Commitment toward fostering peace or justice in some small way, and then write a commitment to do something in the future.

There are many ways people can make peace in small ways. Peace can be the smallest action in our lives. For me peace is doing something good to other people for example helping in just some simple ways.
People can help in many different ways. For me helping friends in problems like listening to them or giving them advice is peace because people are helping others. We saw a film in our English class and there was this guy helping girls to get an education, which I think is very important because with no education people can become very ignorant and this can affect the society. How can this affect the society? Well if people do not have education they do not think about disadvantages or do not want to listen to other people’s opinions and maybe some times not even understand what they are saying. In addition just smiling to people and helping them open the door, for example old people or people that have their hands full. My opinion is just that people should help more and be open minded. Every small action like giving people that need money and are on the street some money or I have an uncle that is a very nice man. He is a very good doctor and even though some people can’t pay him he doesn’t care and tells them they should leave it and what really impressed me was that he would even pay other doctors to help the poor. He does things without wanting something in return. He works hard and works for them.
In the future I think people; all should help without wanting something in return. Even though it is hard work, I think God will pay you back in an even better way. This can change everything and you make in a way the world a better place, of course not only helping people also helping our environment. Keeping it clean and not making it dirty. A clean world and working together everything is possible. War and violence do not have to be our reality. We have to make out dreams come true and make them reality, because working together and wanting it we can make our world a better place!

Many if not most citizens are not politically aware. They do not take the time to do the research necessary to make informed opinions about what’s going on. Will this trend detract or contribute to the creation of a peaceful world? Why or why not. Be specific.

In many countries people are not aware of what is really happening in the politics, which is a problem because how are people going to vote and make a change in this world, like the peace activist said in his lyrics “If you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make the change (Michael Jackson: Man in the mirror). This problem can develop in a negative way.

Not knowing what is happening in the politics can be a big problem. I have lived in three different countries and I notice a lot of differences political wise, mostly in the United States of America and Germany. In Germany people start to be informed at eleventh grade in the subject “Wirtschaft und politic” also named WIPO. This means in English economy and politics. This subject explains how everything works and how politics actually a problem itself is because it is a circulation of problems. Not everyone can be satisfied, but they try to look at all aspects, and make the world a better place. In addition they do not only talk about how the politics work also about the problems. One of the biggest problems in Germany is for example “Der Demographischer Wandel”, which is that people in Germany do not have a lot of kids. Most of the families just have one or none. This will be a very big problem in the future because everybody knows that kids are our future. That are some of the topics that teachers teach in the WIPO class. However talking about these topics in school and discussing them does help a lot to think more and think about everybody’s future not only their future also yours. The bad thing is that in Germany there are three different schools, one only till 9th grade, the second till 10th grade and the third till 13th grade, so the problem is that the ones that go in the lower schools will not be so informed how they supposed to, to know more and the problems Germany actually has.

In the United States the politics are slightly different they do not have a “Bundeskanzler” (Federal Chancellor), they have presidents. In addition they only have republicans or democrats. I’m not very sure, if teachers teach or discuss politic problems with their students in High schools or have a politic subject like Germany, but I know that in college students are allowed to pick that subject and learn more about it. This is very important for the students because if they do not know at least a little bit about what actually politics are about and how it actually works, how are they going to vote and how are people going to know how to make this world a better place. If people are not interested in politics they will not do research or informed their self because they are not interested. I have to honestly admit that I used to be one of them. I did not understand how it worked, but when I had the subject WIPO it really got me interested and I did understand how it works maybe not exactly everything but I have a little knowledge about it, but just of the German politics.

In conclusion I think that people should get more informed about the politics however if the people do not get informed in school, they could research by themselves. I notice that people may not be very interested in the beginning, but once they get more informed and have more knowledge about the politics it will help them to know how and why to vote. This will also help to make the world a better place, also to understand the opinions of the politicians and why they think or make different decisions. If people do not make research can be a detract or a contribute of the peaceful world because they do not have the political aspect and the knowledge about what is occurring in the world. According to my opinion it would be very helpful for students that are almost on the age to vote, to have a knowledge about the world problems and situation, so when they are allowed to vote they have apprehension about their environment and economy. With that they can be able to make a change and try to create peace in the world.

Juarez and Innocent Death People

Is peace actually even still possible in Juarez? Fourteen young teenagers were killed this weekend on the 23th of October in a party, also the mother was killed. The men, who killed the poor innocent teenagers were looking for "the mouse" and they would just shoot everyone and that people didn't even find him. This people do not have a heart and don't think about the people, who they are hurting. A lot of people were hurt in some sources they say nineteen and other say twenty, and had to go to the hospital with family to the "Clinica 66 del Instituto Mexicano". The victims were six woman and eight teenagers and eight of them were really young kids not legally adults yet.I really think this is a horrible experience for the people and I don't know if the people who killed them are doing it only for money, heartless or they are being blackmailed. This is for me something that people can't live with, because killing someone not only one person that are innocent and even very young it's just unforgettable. I don't know when this is going to change and if it's going to change, because war can last for a century, just like the Arab- Israeli conflict. I think without losing hope and remember the love this can have an end.

Building Peace

There are different ways to build peace and how people understand the meaning of peace. The man from the short film "Building Peace" went to Pakistan for the first time, in the year 1993, and promise to build a school for the community  because they didn't have a school and they used to learn outside on the rocks. This "little" helping can do and change a lot in their community and thinking. The reason it can change their thinking towards the world is because they are not doing any violence, instead they are helping. This man was there for the organization "Central Asian" and also for his own interest. Years later he did come again and kept his promise and build that school, which really made them happy.
Not doing any violence and not responding with any violence is a way they can see the world different and "with other eyes". That man also tried to talk to the people, what I think is a great idea (to communicate). I do think that helping is a way to make peace in the world.

An enemy is a person whose story we have not heard

An enemy is a person that we hate and not like, but it is also someone, whose life and background we don't know. Most of the people have enemies. It can be political and even personal. For example someone that did you wrong or did something that hurt you, but maybe this enemy has his reasons why he is that mean or said something against you. Maybe the enemy has problems at home or just another opinion about things. An enemy can also be someone you are jealous of. For example your enemy always gets what you want, but you can see it wrong. If this happens at work and they always for example transfer "your enemy" to a higher spot you can get jealous and think he is your enemy even though he is just doing his work very good, maybe better than you.
What I think is when people have a problem and you only know your side of the situation, it would be a good idea to know his side or opinion too. We have to try to talk to each other, so there will be no violence or hating in between.
