There are different ways to build peace and how people understand the meaning of peace. The man from the short film "Building Peace" went to Pakistan for the first time, in the year 1993, and promise to build a school for the community because they didn't have a school and they used to learn outside on the rocks. This "little" helping can do and change a lot in their community and thinking. The reason it can change their thinking towards the world is because they are not doing any violence, instead they are helping. This man was there for the organization "Central Asian" and also for his own interest. Years later he did come again and kept his promise and build that school, which really made them happy.
Not doing any violence and not responding with any violence is a way they can see the world different and "with other eyes". That man also tried to talk to the people, what I think is a great idea (to communicate). I do think that helping is a way to make peace in the world.
I agree. If we would all do small things to help it would eventually lead to stopping violence.
ReplyDeleteWe often think that we cant do anything to change our world, but we can!!! we have the choice and right to change it, to make it better even by doing small things, we dont realize that the small things can become a huge difference
ReplyDeleteThis man is perhaps doing what the U.S. itself can't do. He is out there pretty much representing our country showing them we are only there to help and not just bomb and kill everything we see. People over there need to trust us and by going there and helping with building a school improves peace. Communication is indeed a big part of it of course, how else can we resolve our conflicts. Also by improving their education we can also improve their moral standards. They will then not be as naive to believe anyone that goes to them and tells them the U.S. are the bad ones. Instead they will chose who to ally with based on facts not just someone's opinion.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you because with communication you can resolve thinks through.
